NASW-NJ Certificate and Special Programs

As a social work professional, there are times you'll need specialty training in certain issues, like conducting clinical supervision or learning the ins and out of telemental health. At NASW-NJ, we endeavor to create relevant certificate and special programs to help you master these topics and remain on the cutting edge of social work best practice, research, and training. Our certificate programs are offered anywhere between 2-6 times per year, depending on demand and availability of facilitators.

You can learn more about each of these programs below.

NASW-NJ Trauma2

Seventy percent of U.S. adults have experienced a traumatic event at least once in their lives—often before age 18. The results can be disrupted brain development, adoption of at-risk health behaviors, and increased risk for disease, disability, social problems, and physical and mental illness.

The NASW-NJ Trauma Certificate program is a 20 hour program of in-depth training covering foundational therapeutic skills, neuro-biological, psychological and somatic impacts of trauma and more. This is an interactive program featuring case scenarios, best practices and breakout groups.

The program includes 4 hours of self-study prerequisites which will be sent to you after you register. Live instruction will take place over four 4-hour days, for a total of 20 program hours.
